Ernie joined Intel in 1995 and has worked in various capacities including leading the Latin America Human Resources functions based in Brazil. Ernie joined Intel’s Global Diversity & Inclusion group in 2005 and held various roles including leading the company’s Employee Group program, standing up Intel’s Hispanic & Native American initiatives. In 2007 he worked with Intel’s senior leaders to form Intel’s Hispanic Leadership Council, known today as Intel’s LatinX Leadership Council. Ernie was one of the co-creators of the Blueprint for Extraordinary Performance program a leadership development program, an Intel Achievement Award recipient.
Today he leads the technical leadership development programs for a number of Intel’s engineering business groups focused on developing and growing the technical pipeline, Intel’s future technologists, critical for keeping Intel as a leading technology company. Ernie is the 2021 recipient of SHPE’s (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) Jaime Oaxaca STAR Award, the highest national award presented by SHPE recognizing the honoree’s selfless and outstanding contributions in the fields of engineering and science to the Hispanic community over and extended period of time. In 2020 Ernie received an Intel business group Operational Excellence for his leadership of the TLDe Mentor Circle program. In 2019 & 2021 Ernie was co-conference manager of Intel’s largest technical conference, DTTC (Design, Test and Technology Conference) and is currently working on DTTC 2022 in the same capacity.
Ernie earned a BS degree from Arizona State University. He and his wife, Anita reside in Folsom, CA., they have two beautiful daughters, Andrea & April and a very gorgeous 3½ year old granddaughter, Blake.
